Athletes

We are proud to recognize two female athletes competing at the Provincial High Performance level: Talance Kalmakoff from Maidstone and Ava Schwinghammer from Saskatoon.

Both athletes have had an exceptionally busy and dedicated season, committing to extensive off-season training that included water ramping in Whistler, BC; summer on-snow training at Mount Hood, Oregon; airbag camps in Cochrane, Alberta; and a fall on-snow training camp in Chile, South America.

The 2026 competition season kicked off in December at the Apex Canada Cup FIS Series in Apex, BC—also commonly referred to as Canadian Selections.

  • Talance Kalmakoff earned a full NorAm Tour for the remainder of the season and will compete across Canada and the United States. Her next event is the Apex NorAm, January 29 – February 1, 2026. The first scheduled NorAm at Deer Valley was cancelled due to lack of snow.
  • Ava Schwinghammer will compete that same weekend at the Canada Cup Development Series in Red Deer, Alberta.

We wish both athletes the very best of luck and hope they have a fun and successful competition season!
